Trademark renewal
Trademark registrations need to be renewed every 10 years in China. In accordance with the Trademark Law, where a trademark registrants intends to continue using the registered trademark upon expiry of the validity period of registration, the trademark registrant shall go through the renewal procedure with 12 months prior to the expiry date; where the registrant fails to do so during the said time limit, an extension of six months may be granted. If no application for renewal is filed upon expiry of the extension period, the registered trademark shall be canceled.
Thus, trademark renewal is the most effective and efficient way to maintain the trademark rights and also the important step to keep the brand reputation and awareness.

- 1. Trademark number
- 2. Trademark application form for renewal
- 3. Copy of the business license or extract from commercial register if the applicant is a legal entity or copy of the identification card/passport if the applicant is a natural person
- 4. Power of Attorney
